Skills AssessmentAssets: Ennis climbed the national charts last summer thanks to a tremendous showing in the 16-unders at the Peach Jam. He first broke onto high-major radar because of his stellar quarterbacking ability, and clearly that talent remains a high point of his game. Ennis boasts excellent size for point guard and doesn't get called a combo because he's so well suited to run the show. He's very crafty with the ball, baits defenders into miscues and delivers the ball with intelligence and touch. Last summer, he proved to be an improved three-point marksman and also changed speeds well to free himself for moves to the rim. Question Marks: Some coaches prefer their point guard to be the best athlete on the team, but Ennis won't be one of those guys. He's a steady, consistent floor general but not the takeover type who can crush an opponent's will due to sheer physical dominance. The quickest defenders can pressure him and challenge his playmaking, though he has handled that well and does have the height to pass over all but the tallest foes. We'll watch closely over the next several months to determine if he has become an even better shooter to mitigate his average speed. Event PerformancesPrepStars.com Staff, www.PrepStars.com |
